 INTRO
Roller coasters. They are fun things that have entertained us for a long time. But do you know the science behind it. Here are some words velocity is speed giving in one direction. Example if the roller coaster goes in 1 direction for a long period of time it gains more voracity. So how do you calculate velocity? You divide distance by time then you get speed. Potential energy is just energy stored up in one place. Example do you know when you get to the top of the hill. When you stop to have lunch you have the most potential energy. BUT when you go down your going faster and you have less potential energy. To calculate PE you have to multiply mass*weight*gravity. Kinetic energy is the opposite of potential energy. When you go slow or stop you don't have any kinetic energy. But when you go fast you have more kinetic energy. So they are both exactly opposite. Examples when you are at the top of the roller coaster you have no kinetic energy. But when you are at the bottom you have lots of kinetic energy. How do you calculate KE? You multiply 1/2*mass* velocity or volume*velocity or volume How do you calculate KE?  How do you calculate PE?  What is something in the world that has PE?  Something with KE?  Did you know that energy can NOT be changed or destroyed? Example when you turn on a fan and air is plowing out. But when it stops is the energy gone. NO it's just in the air waiting and waiting to be turned into energy. EXCELLENT friction one of the most important thing. When you’re driving a car it will never ever stop moving even when your foot is off the gas pedal. So with out friction we would be running and running and running and running FOR EVER! Also when you roll a marble down a hill the energy is changed to heat
 EXPEREMENT
In class we did an experiment to see were this marble would go the fastest on a model roller coaster. The coaster had three hills. I thought it would go the fastest when it was down the first hill. But I was wrong it actually went the fastest at the end. The time was 0.0104 seconds that would be 400 cm a second.

Now we used many materials to do this experiment. We needed 2 screws a triangular base a metal pole with holes a model roller coaster. A marble two photo gates and a timer.

First we attached the metal pole to the triangular base. Then we attached the model coaster to the pole then we attached the photo gates 5 cm apart. Then we attached the photo gates to the timer. We placed them 5 cm apart to tell how fast it went were. We put the photo gates on almost all the spots to tell when it went the fastest. Then we put the marble at the top and let it roll. With the photo gates we were able to tell how fast it went.

DISSCUSION
As you see in the Graff the velocity gets higher and lower.  In our coaster there were two spots the top of the hill (has highest potential energy and lowest kinetic energy and lowest velocity).
And the bottom (Has lowest potential energy and highest kinetic energy and lowest and highest velocity). But for some wired reason there was this one point at the coaster were it went 480 cm a second.  I wish I knew why. One second it went 154cm a second then it went 480 cm a second.  Now there were some predictions in my class on were it would go the fastest. One kid guessed it go the fastest at the top of the first hill. Another said it would go the fastest at the bottom of the first hill. One said it would go the fastest at the top of the second hill. And one said it would go the fastest at the bottom of the second hill. Looks like the 4th one was right. Did you know that velocity is connected? Well they are because you need velocity to find what KE and PE is.

We hade so many problems with the roller coaster. There were bumps calculation errors it did not stand right. But our biggest problem was it would not go across the whole thing. It just stopped at the bottom of the first hill. Then when ever it finally got across it fell of the edge. We hade to spend 1 hour just fixing it let alone calculating how fast it went. The total KE and PE decreased for 1 reason and 1 reason only. WE MADE CHANGES. The max KE and PE probably changed MANY time because of our corrections.  There were probably many corrections.

This is a great start.  You need to go through and correct spelling and capitalize at the beginning of all of your sentences.  Also, if you are going to write in paragraph form you need to make your important vocabulary words noticeable (bold or underline or highlight)  or make subheadings.

You have a lot of good, smart information in this section, but you need to break it into sections (hypothesis, materials, methods, data table, graph, discussion).  Then I'll read it again.
